13-Year-Old Killed In Pemberton Crash After Driver Falls Asleep: Police

A 13-year-old boy was killed in a crash in Pemberton Township on Sunday, June 8, authorities said.

At 6:32 a.m., officers responded to a single car crash at 537 Magnolia Rd after the driver, a 30-year-old Willingboro woman, fell asleep while traveling 50 mph, Pemberton Township  Police said.

The silver 2016 Audi A3 ran off the roadway and struck a tree, police said. The 13-year-old, a front seat passenger, was transported to Cooper University Hospital where he was pronounced dead, police said. The driver was hospitalized in stable condition after sustaining serious bodily injuries to the lower half of her right leg, police said.

The crash remains under investigation, police said.
