64 Cats Rescued From 'Horrific' Conditions On Broken-Down Bus In Hudson Valley: SPCA Needs Help More than 60 cats are now safe after being rescued from a squalid hoarding situation that Hudson Valley SPCA officials are calling one of the most heartbreaking and complicated operations they’ve ever conducted.  On Monday, April 7, the nonprofit’s Humane Law Enforcement team descended on a rural property in the Orange County hamlet of Westtown, where 100 cats were found packed inside a broken-down school bus that reeked of feces and rotting food, according to the Hudson Valley SPCA.  SPCA officials added that the bus was also filled with the decomposing bodies of other cats …

26 Dogs Seized In Raid Of Puppy Mill In Area An alleged puppy mill was busted over the weekend after a person who adopted a dog tipped off officials that the puppies were kept in horrible conditions. The Hudson Valley SPCA Law Enforcement, along with state police, raided a Pine Bush home with a warrant following a months-long investigation into the suspected puppy mill, according to Gene Hecht, the SPCA’s humane law enforcement officer. Dozens Of Malnourished Goats Seized From Hudson Valley Farm Twenty-seven goats and a calf were within days of death when found by Hudson Valley SPCA officials on an Orange County farm after receiving a complaint.  The goats were discovered after Gene Hecht, chief of the Hudson Valley SPCA’s Humane Law Enforcement Division, applied for a warrant to raid the farm in the Town of Goshen after investigating. "They had no food, no water and were so emaciated they were less than three days away from death," Hecht said.
