Oakland Teen Killed After Car Hits Trees Off Route 287 In Mahwah, State Police Say
A 19-year-old Oakland man died after his car veered off the highway and struck several trees in Mahwah, New Jersey State Police said.
Jonathan Rodriguez-Pluchino, 19, of Oakland, was heading north on Route 287 when the vehicle left the roadway to the right and struck multiple trees at 7:15 a.m. on Tuesday, June 11, near milepost 65.4, according to State Police Sgt. Jeffrey Lebron.
Rodriguez-Pluchino sustained serious injuries, police said. He was taken to an area hospital, where he died, Lebron said.
The crash remains under investigation. No other information was available.
