Charlotte A. Cully, 80, Former Pearl River Resident

PEARL RIVER, N.Y. – Charlotte A. Cully of Lincolnshire, Ill., formerly of Pearl River, died Friday, Feb. 19, after a battle with Alzheimer's disease. She was 80.

She was a nurse at Nyack Hospital where she achieved the role of head nurse of the extended cardiac unit during her over 20-year career. She also worked as a nurse for A&T Healthcare at her retirement. She was a member of Pearl River United Methodist Church for more than 30 years, where she was the organist and also sang in the choir.

She is survived by her children Michael Cully and his wife, Tammy Rogers, of Lake Forest, Ill., Mary Cully McPhillips and her husband, John, of Washingtonville, N.Y., and Allen Cully and his wife, Kori of Van couver, Was.; four grandchildren, Allison and Grant Cully and John and Michelle McPhillips; sisters-in-law Normajean Olaerts and Janet Mulch and her husband, Gilbert, all of California.

Her husband of 53 years, Gerald, died in 2009.

Visitation will be held Friday from 3-5 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. at Wyman-Fisher Funeral Home, 100 Franklin Ave., Pearl River. A funeral service will be on Saturday at 10 a.m. at Pearl River United Methodist Church, 130 Franklin Ave., Pearl River. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery, Nyack.

Donations in her memory to the Alzheimer’s Association are requested.
