Two people were arrested and charged in Union City on Tuesday, March 4, with stealing $256,000, authorities said.
Crystal Williams, 42 and Damien Hall, 37, from Elizabeth and Newark, face a 30-count indictment including theft, conspiracy to commit theft, criminal impersonation and forgery, Union County Prosecutor William Daniel said.
Between 2022 and 2024, Williams and Hall engaged in a series of deceptive practices against an acquaintance to obtain over $250,000, Daniel said.

Hampden County resident Precious C. Okorie, age 30, of Springfield, Massachusetts, was arrested around 4:40 p.m., Thursday, Dec. 28 in South Windsor, Connecticut.

A 48-year-old man was captured after a months-long investigation into identity theft and larceny at a Fairfield County bank.
James Greco, of Wynantskill, New York, located in Rensselaer County, was charged on Tuesday, Nov. 21 on a warrant for the July incident at a Wilton bank.
